As the frequency increases, the radiation of a loudspeaker is increasingly focused on its center. If the listener is in this beam, the sound is extremely harsh and biting; if one moves to the side of it, the sound becomes significantly darker and treble components are partially missing.
To reduce this behavior, a diffuser is used. This sits directly in the beam of the speaker and deflects the high frequencies very strongly, it breaks the "beam". This makes the sound much fuller and more balanced.

Many new and unused loudspeakers sound harsh and must be used for a certain time to develop their sound. This ageing process can be accelerates with this service which "wears" different parts of the speaker, so it will sound softer and smoother, in particular the top end.

Very linear working 12AX7 / ECC83 with long anode plates and spiral heating, which makes the tube less sensitive to interference from AC heating.
We recommend this tube for audio and high-end amps as well as for "modern" Fender amps with more overdrive, but also as an input tube in old Marshall JCM800s.

Note: Tubes equipped with long plates are commonly associated with a "warmer" or "richer" sound, whereas those with shorter plates tend to deliver a "tighter sound". However, tubes featuring long plates exhibit increased sensitivity to vibrations and mechanical disturbances, rendering them less ideal for critical applications.

The Sovtek 5881 delivers a warm, round tone that "sweetens" any vintage or modern guitar amp design. Chances are if an amp uses 6L6-style output tubes, it has Sovtek 5881's in its sockets. Built to rigid military standards, the 5881 will tolerate higher voltages than any other 6L6. In fact, they're frequently used as replacements for the old 7027 model in vintage Ampegs.
