Good tube for V1 of a VOXAC15C1, especially if you like it 'muddy'. For more clear tones, try the Tung Sol Reissue. It really pays to try a few of these tubes, especially in the V1 position. a few of these tubes, especially in the V1 position.

The JJ ECC803 is a premium 12AX7 / ECC83 type which was designed for audio applications.
With its rich, open sound and excellent spatial detail, it is a great choice for hi-fi and high-end equipment. It also works very well in classic guitar and bass amplifier circuits, where it adds clarity, depth and fine detail to the sound.

Note: Tubes equipped with long plates are commonly associated with a "warmer" or "richer" sound, whereas those with shorter plates tend to deliver a "tighter sound". However, tubes featuring long plates exhibit increased sensitivity to vibrations and mechanical disturbances, rendering them less ideal for critical applications.
