Review:
I bought this kit as a basis for future modifications for my trials... but after trying it (with ECC99), I totally dig the sound and feel of the amp: very responsive, with a surprisingly good smooth clean sound when rolling back guitar volume and a great sustaining and singing distortion at higher gains! But beware, with ECC99 (recommended tube: great tone) it is pretty loud, even with a master volume. In the end, I will just keep it as it is and build a nice encloser for it; it is too good to tinker with its circuit;-)

Dirk did a really good job at designing this lower power version of the Trainwreck style amps, and all components are of very high quality. The modular approach with separate power supply PCB helps to build it quite fast and check your build step by step. If you are a beginner, just read very carefully the diagrams and indications: everything is there but this require some concentration to follow.

Now for my experimentations, I think I will go for a scratch build, because if all other LoW TubeTown amps are as good as this one, I will always keep them in their original form and not care moding them ;-)
